Once upon a time, the Birkenfeld Country Store was considered the longest continually operating store in Oregon. Established in 1910, it had a good run, but that's all changed as Mike and Wendy Ingraham have breathed new life into a 100-plus-year-old structure by transforming it into an American roadhouse, replete with music, eats, drinks and lodging. With a calendar that frequently hosts blues, soul and rock and roll talent, the likes of Sugaray Rayford, Bobby Rush, Dana Fuchs, Coco Montoya and Danielle Nicole, alongside locals Curtis Salgado, Norman Sylvester and Jerry Joseph & The Jackmormons, have all left lasting memories in the minds of audiences at The Birk. But most importantly, the space is intimate and the vibe is familial: All the old-growth timber surrounding you, the framed photographs of good times cluttering the wall behind the stage, and an American flag in the corner kindle an incredible warmth—sonically and spiritually—in the roadside venue.

Owner's Statement

Your American Roadhouse: We host bands from all over the country as well as our own backyard, offering an intimate setting where you can get up close and personal with your favorite musicians. Our full-service venue features drinks and handcrafted food: Try our Smokehouse Burgers (a mix of lean beef, pork and special seasonings smoked on a Traeger to enhance the flavor), Reubens (brisket brined in-house to perfection), and roasts—also prepped in-house and found in our meaty French Dip sandwiches. Plus, our huge salads are full of carrots, cauliflower, broccoli and fresh tomatoes. Watch for dinner shows, and you can even call it a night at our digs as we offer B&B, hostel and camping accommodations. We can also host your private functions (weddings, conferences, parties and small festivals) and offer opportunities to document it all—whether you're a bride-to-be or a band looking for a unique place to record your next project. Our restaurant hours are Fridays from 2 to 10pm, Saturdays from 12 to 11pm, and Sundays from 12 to 5pm. Know that your experience will be memorable and worth the drive—and always remember: It's Not That Far. Mike and Wendy Ingraham
