The 40th annual Cathedral Park Jazz Festival 2020 will be virtual Friday through Sunday, July 17-19, 2020. Celebrating jazz, R&B, blues, and funk, highlights of this year’s festival will include violinist Eddie Parente who will be channelling jazz violinists such as Stuff Smith, Stephane Grappelli, and Joe Venuto; in a tribute to Dr. John, late New Orleans pianist, will be The Bayou Boyz; and Saeeda Wright, soulful vocalist — who has sung backup for Lalah Hathaway, Live Warfield, Prince, and others — and her nine-piece orchestra. This festival “is both the longest-running free annual jazz festival west of the Mississippi – and Portland’s longest-running annual community event.” The lineup for July 17 includes Tevis Hodge, Jr. Trio, Rae Gordon Band, Johnny Wheels and the Swamp Donkeys, and The Bayou Boyz “For Dr. John.” Click Get Tickets below for more information.
