Before the Marylhurst Chamber Choir departs on their trip to Riga, Latvia, to compete in the Grand Prix of Nations this July, the internationally award-winning choir will give two free performances: Friday, June 30 in the Chapel of the Holy Names at Mary’s Woods (17400 Holy Names Dr., Lake Oswego, OR 97034) and again on Sunday, July 2 in St. Anne’s Chapel at Marylhurst University (17600 Pacific Highway, Marylhurst, OR 97036). Directed by Dr. Justin Smith, the choir is the only ensemble from the United States invited to participate in the international competition, which attracts hundreds of choirs from 28 countries. These free community performances are “a dress rehearsal of sorts for the Grand Prix of Nations competition,” Smith says. Come see the Marylhurst Chamber Choir prepare for their big day!
