Will West

Americana, Folk, Rock
Location: Portland

Carolina-born songwriter Will West has called Portland home since 2002. Transitions, West’s self-produced fourth studio project, is a step away from the easy-going, soulful Americana sounds that he’s known for with Will West & The Friendly Strangers. The EP features an all-star cast—including Portland Cello Project’s Skip vonKuske and Drew Shoals of Train—playing a dynamic collection of songs that touch on rock and pop with big horn sounds and an undercurrent of optimistic moodiness, which is to be expected from Will West. For fans of Beck, Iron & Wine, The Arcs, Ty Segall and Rubblebucket, celebrate the release of Transitions (Side A) at Mississippi Studios with Groovy Wallpaper and Kathryn Claire on Sunday, July 21 and listen here.
