It’s been a busy year for one of Portland’s most in-demand jazz guitarists. January saw the release of Lost Days via venerated jazz label Fresh Sound New Talent, and after a short run of gigs, Meagher joined the Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble’s storytelling project From Maxville to Vanport on tour. Summer rolled around and so did Meagher’s seventh album as bandleader. Evil Twin is his most adventurous release to date featuring over an hour of music collectively composed in the moment by a six-member ensemble. For fans of Pat Metheny, Nels Cline, Bill Frisell and Kurt Rosenwinkel.
