The oldest American orchestra west of the Mississippi and Portland’s largest performing arts organization, the Oregon Symphony is led by music director Carlos Kalmar and performs with many of the world’s top musicians, offering the best of orchestral music—from classical to pops to cutting-edge contemporary—to growing audiences in Portland and across Oregon. From September through May, the orchestra performs about 80 concerts each season, mostly at the historic Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, drawing an audience of more than 225,000 people annually.
