Decemberists Day at City Hall on Jan. 20, 2015

On the day that Portland's beloved literary folk rockers released their seventh studio album—What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World—the city also declared it Decemberists Day and hosted the band at City Hall, where they rubbed elbows with Mayor Charlie Hales, performed a free set, and were presented a collaborative art piece inspired by the album’s artwork, which was created by 50 local Portland artists and small businesses.

If you missed out on their day, head to Alberta Street and snap a selfie with the oversized album art.

Or catch 'em at the Keller on March 21, in Bend on May 22, headling Sasquatch at the Gorge, or at Edgefield on July 10. And in case you haven’t heard the new record yet, be sure to check out the band live on Kimmel below. CY
