Continuing to provide a behind-the-scenes view of the music industry, Stottrup's intimate conversations profile the personalities of the grittiest artists, makers and key voices, offering insider insights and anecdotes.

After a bit of a break, Stottrup is back this spring with big plans for season two. Fresh from last month's Treefort Music Fest, The Gritty Birds sat down with Portland original (now residing in LA) pop-punks YACHT, who just spent two sold-out nights at the Roseland opening for M83 (and who are actually "too experimental to be punk, too punk to be pop, too pop to be punk...").

Chatting about tech and music, vegan food, apps and TV shows, Claire L. Evans, Jona Bechtolt and Rob Kieswetter (aka Bobby Birdman) dropped their latest sci-fi dance record, I Thought The Future Would Be Cooler (watch the video for the title track below), last fall.

Get gritty with the trio by listening to the first episode of season two below and then tune in to XRAY.fm every Thursday from 1 to 1:30pm for new episodes (next up: Radiation City), plus find extended cuts on iTunes.
