The Breaking

Rock, Pop
Location: Portland

Alt-rock revivalists The Breaking stepped straight out of 1995, mining the rich soundscape of mid-’90s guitar pop where brooding introspection gives way to anthemic choruses and infectious guitar hooks. Drawing inspiration from bands like Failure, R.E.M., Soundgarden and early Radiohead, on Friday, February 1, the band will set aside their electric axes for the filming of a special acoustic performance accompanied by a string ensemble. Think MTV Unplugged but with the unparalleled acoustics of The Old Church Concert Hall. Hutch Harris of The Thermals opens.
